Recipe for Great Times in

Take 110 strangers.
Add golf.
Add a couple of roads trips.
More than a helping of great food.
Blend with southern hospitality.
Mix in some Blues Music
And lot's of laughs.

If you are like me and you find a great restaurant that serves you up a great meal you are likely to go back and have that same meal again. That is just the case with the Golf & Blues Week that we had in Tunica Mississippi last April. We had such a blast, that not only are we going to do it again but we are going to do it twice.

As a former restaurateur himself the Master Wizard at MB Golf Wizard is very familiar with recipes but for many years now Bill Pesavento has been focusing his efforts towards spinning recipes for success with golf groups in Myrtle Beach. But there is more to Bill that we found out about on his first visit to Mississippi a few years ago. Bill has some rhythm in that old body of his and for the 2011 Golf & Blues weeks in Mississippi, Bill is threatening to bring his guitar and act as a wing man for our celebrity host Chuck Jackson. Bill had been considering opening up other destinations for some of his clients that did not want to return to Myrtle Beach year after year. For him Golf and Blues in Mississippi was a natural.

"We got such positive feedback from the group on our first go with the golf and blues that we had no choice but to do it again." said Bill. "We have addressed the few issues that were brought to us with respect to the past Tunica trip and moved the dates to the fall of 2011 for better golf conditions. Although it will be tough to better the last trip because now people will have expectations, but we are up for that challenge."

Bill believes that his formula can be repeated on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Mississippi Gulf Coast is home to some of the State's top golf courses. Arrangements have been put into place with 3 of those courses; Shell Landing's Davis Love III Signature Course will host 2 of the rounds for the week with The Oaks, former Buy.Com Tour stop, and semi private club Windance, also a former tour stop, will host the other rounds.

But it is not just about the golf on this trip. And what really put the past Tunica trip over the top was having Chuck Jackson, lead singer for Downchild one of Canada's top blues bands, entertaining at the group at various music stops along the way.

"Every day was an adventure, it was so much fun and the golf actually became secondary" said Darby Moore one of the participants that came from Ontario.

"We will be able to provide that in Biloxi as well" said Bill. "The Shed BBQ and Blues Joint will host our group one night and Chuck will be able to do his thing. On another night we will be hanging out at The Dock on Gulfport Lake. One thing that we will be doing in Biloxi that we can't do in Tunica is take a shoreline cruise on the Gulf Coast."

There was an impromptu night at the Hollywood Café (of Walking in Memphis fame) where not all participants on the trip were able to attend simply because of the size of the Hollywood and that it was last minute. "There is no doubt that we are going to do that again" said Bill. For next year we will still have to split the group but we will have 2 nights there.

"In all my years of hosting groups of golfers I have never seen a group of people come so close together as the Tunica group. I think it was because of the gatherings around the music" said Bill. Considering that the group ranged from Florida across to Colorado up to Alberta and across to Ontario and Quebec, it's pretty amazing.

So if you have not made plans for you 2011 golf trips you might want to consider one of these 2 trips for your get-a-way. The Biloxi Golf & Blues Week will take place May 1-7, 2011 with accommodations at the IP Casino Resort & Spa. The Tunica Golf & Blues Week will take place starting on the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend October 9 – 15, 2011.

The golf for the week is a FUN tournament format with handicapping based on your play for the week.
The Tunica week will again include 2 escorted bus trips; one to Clarksdale MS highlighted by the evening at Morgan Freeman's Blues Club – Ground Zero and the other to Memphis with a visit to Graceland and an evening on Beale Street. Both weeks will include an opening meet and greet reception and closing awards dinner. For complete itinerary and pricing CLICK HERE.
