THE TALAMORE RESORT COURSE

by CLAUDIO DeMARCHI | Resort Course Golf Packages

The opening hole at the Talamore Resort Course pretty much sets the tone for the round a par 5, 609 yards, although slightly downhill, makes you grip it and rip it from the get go.  Just to ad to the opening-hole challenge, you also need to favor the left side of this tree-lined fairway, as there is plenty of trouble down the right.

Once you have maneuvered your way around the front 9, and you’re ready for the challenge of the back, you are greeted by no other than a 370-yard par 4.  No big deal right except it’s all up hill, dogleg right with 5 large bunkers that await errant second shots since you are usually coming hitting from of a side hill lie.  Remember, you will need at least one extra club on your second shot.

You may find yourself a little beat up by the time you come to the end of this round, but you may want to save something for the 18th hole.  If you have a yardage book, and I highly recommend that you get one, the first thing that you notice when you flip over the page to the 18th hole, in big bold red letters, is “Good Luck”.  We played it at 400 yards and it is one of those risk reward holes - water all down the left hand side and you can bite off as much as you dare.  My round was already shot by this point so it did not really matter much that I had to use my putter on my second shot. Luckily I putt left handed because obviously I tried to bite off a little too much.  I sure would not want to reach this hole needing a par to break 80.

With the round over and me having to pay off my debt for the day, we visited the well-appointed 19th hole for a couple of cold ones.  And believe it or not, they were $2 -piece!  I think I’ve died and gone to heaven.
