World-AM
Tournament has just registered two
more golfers! The Traveling Golfer
and Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday would
like to congratulate Keith Gardner
(pictured above), of Richmond Hill,
Ontario. Keith is the winner of the
World AM contest recently held on
The Traveling Golfer. From August
25th-29th 2008, Keith and a friend
will be participating in the world's
largest golf tournament held annually
in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Keith,
a golfer for the past 25 years, enjoys
playing a variety of courses from
Niagara Falls to Belleville to Huntsville.
Although he is not a member at any
particular golf club, Keith (with
a fluctuating handicap of 11 to13)
has recently joined the 2008 Toronto
Highland Golf Tour.
"I
am totally thrilled about winning
the trip to participate in the PGA
Superstore World AM Handicap Championship.
It finally paid off filling in all
those entry forms." he said.
"I will be forever thankful to
The Traveling Golfer for this wonderful
opportunity."
Keith
first heard about the Traveling Golfer
while attending the Toronto Golf &
Travel Show earlier this year, and
he went on to say that he is very
proud to say that he has played a
total of 161 Ontario Golf Courses,
87 outside of Ontario, and 44 in the
Myrtle Beach area. He is a true "traveling
golfer"!
This
is what Keith has won:
· Entry for himself (and a
friend) to the tournament 72
holes of tournament golf hosted on
four different Myrtle Beach area golf
courses
· 5 nights accommodations at
the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention
Center Hotel
· 4 nights of free food, open
bar and entertainment at the World's
Largest 19th Hole
· A goodie bag valued at over
$100
· The opportunity to win both
the contest and random drawing prizes

once again, Keith! Enjoy your time

Keith
is just one of our Traveling Golfer
subscribers who have won a fabulous
golf vacation of a life time.
The Turgeon Family of Mt
Bridges, ON recently returned
from their weeks stay at the luxurious
Spinnaker Resort in Hilton Head
SC and claimed their "overall
rating of the entire trip is a
10+ by far a golfer's paradise".
Here
is what they had to say:
"Though Jenna & Marc
did most of the golfing, Justin
& Mom had an opportunity
to explore the gorgeous surroundings
and beautiful 12 miles of beaches
on bicycles. Our accommodations
at Waterside were superb - extremely
clean and comfortable - "5
star" all the way. Both
Port Royal and Shipyard golf
courses were a sight to see,
let alone play. Shipyard's courses
in particular were in spectacular
condition and very close to
our Villa. The abundance of
alligators on the courses was
a rather unique "hazard"
we hadn't yet experienced!!
Their presence was a good motivator
to keep the ball 'on course!'
We took fewer photos than we
normally would on vacation -
it took some time to recover
from the unexpected travel changes,
and of course we were very preoccupied
with the "surreal"
environment in which we had
the pleasure of vacationing
as a family. The beautiful weather,
stellar service and friendly
attitudes of staff and visitors
alike contributed to making
this a trip one that we'd definitely
like to repeat. We can't thank
Golf South enough for this wonderful
opportunity - we are very grateful
for the win, and the introduction
to such an amazing vacation
paradise.
Sincerely,
The Turgeon Family

Alida
and Rennie Vankeroerle of
Mt Bridges, ON Canada were our
winners to Santee, South Carolina
and they wrote to tell us:
"My
husband and I arrived in Santee
on Saturday, the 8th of Dec.,
instead of Sunday, the 9th as
was booked for us. It presented
no problem for the Howard Johnson.
The staff there were very friendly
and helpful. Kimberley, at the
desk, called to rearrange our
golf. We were able to play our
Saturday, the 15th booking at
Santee Cooper, on Sunday the
9th instead. No problem. All
the rest remained the same for
the most wonderful week. Our
temperatures were in the high
70's to low 80's every day.
The golf was tremendous, as
were all the golf staff. Each
course we played had the fairways
and greens in great shape. Each
course had its own uniqueness
and we really can't say that
one was better than the other.
Crowfield was the most challenging
of the courses, where Lake Marion
and Santee Cooper have interesting
layouts. Wyboo and Santee National
were pristine and had more forgiving
fairways. We tried different
restaurants in the area and
enjoyed them all. Coaster's
was our first stop and it offered
sports bar televisions, great
food and a colorful decor. Sanchez
was a wonderful Mexican restaurant
that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Our all out treat was at Captains
Quarters where we enjoyed the
very best prime rib and seafood!!
Yum! LT's was good eats in a
more casual setting and was
very reasonably priced. We missed
going to Clark's Inn for their
Sunday buffet brunch, which
is apparently very good, but,
enjoyed Cracker Barrel, Maurices's
BBQ, and Shoney's for the occasional
breakfast or lunch. With a microwave
and refrigerator in our room,
we were able to snack on foods
we bought at the local Piggly
Wiggly grocery store. Yep! Had
us a great time and cannot thank
Golf South enough for arranging
this contest win. We are very
appreciative and hope others
have as much fun with a contest
win as we did.
Thank
you so much,
Alida and Rennie Vankerkoerle
