Vintage Plantation
(pictured above) - The Tom Jackson
designed opened in 2002 and has
played host to an LPGA event.
The bent grass greens can be surprisingly
fast. Stacked stone bridges and
retaining walls combined with
manicured bunkers and fairways,
make this a must play. A third
9 is scheduled to open by years
end. |

The
River Golf Club - A
Jim Fazio designed course which
opened in the spring of 1998.
The course site is an abandoned
rail yard on the South Carolina
side of the Savannah River, just
across from downtown Augusta.
There is plenty of water to be
found; but with wide fairways
and large bent grass greens, you
should be able to avoid the water
hazards. But, did I mention Mr.
Fazio's love of a deep bunker?
The River club now has two cottages
available on property for your
stay. Each cottage has 4 bedrooms
and is perfect for that group
of 8 players. |

Jones
Creek Golf Club - Tom
Fazio's design group came to Jones
Creek about three years ago and
made some changes to The Rees
Jones design. Some of the greens
were re-shaped and putting surfaces
were replaced with Tif Eagle Bermuda.
Tight fairways and tall pines
make this a true shot-makers course. |
|
| Goshen
Plantation - Owner
Spike Kelly invites you to play
the second best greens in Augusta
(second only to a neighbor down
the road a piece) Goshen Plantation
renovated their clubhouse in 2004
and in 2005 changed the Ellis
Maples design greens to Champions
Bermuda. A true test of golf at
7,430 yards from the back tees. |
|
| Forest
Hills Golf Club - The
course is now owned and operated
by Augusta State University. The
historic course is where Bobby
Jones began his 1930 Grand Slam
of Golf , winning The Southeastern
Open at Forest Hills. The course
has seen changes over the years;
but was restored to its original
lay-out in 2003. |

 |
Bartram
Trail Golf Club - A
beautiful, rolling hills golf
course located just minutes away
from Augusta. Bartram Trail is
the only public golf course in
Columbia County to offer bent
grass greens and features five
par 5's and five par 3's. |
|
 |
Aiken
Golf Club - Steeped
in history; the original 18 dates
back to 1912. The layout was given
an update and new greens in 1999
and was stretched to just over
6,000 yards. Don't let the yardage
lull you to sleep; 3-putts will
sneak up on you. |
|
 |
Cedar
Creek - Since opening
in 1991, the Arthur Hills design
has offered golfers of every caliber
a challenge. This true Hill's
design offers tees from 5,200
yards to 7,200 yards. |
|
| Midland
Valley Country Club
- Built in 1961 this is considered
Ellis Maples' masterpiece. The
wide rolling fairways lined with
mature Pine Trees and challenging
Bermuda greens add to the course's
mystique. Water comes into play
on 2 holes and approximately 45
bunkers are hazards you want to
avoid. |
|
| Persimmon
Hill Golf Club - The
Russell Breeden design opened
in 1962 and the course has matured
to be one of South Carolina's
favorites. The course is both
challenging and enjoyable. |
